Follow Your Arrow

is a year-long self-trust membership program for dedicated, compassionate people who want to live life with intention and step into their motherf*cking magic.

It’s 12 months of deconditioning, personal growth, and group coaching so you can free yourself from self-doubt and embody a deeper sense of self-trust.

I'm Shohreh Davoodi

and my pronouns are she/her/hers.

I’m a self-trust coach, writer, and the host of the Conjuring Up Courage podcast. My lived experiences as a queer, mixed-race, and neurodiverse woman have led me to to care deeply about building a world where everyone feels like they belong, and that’s one of the main reasons I do this work.

Speaking of my work, over the past five years, I’ve provided guidance and encouragement to a whole lot of badass people to help them move in the direction they want to go in life.  Some of the skills that make me a great coach are my ability to take complex topics and break them down into easier-to-understand pieces (thank you, law degree!) and my knack for creative problem-solving.

Follow Your Arrow is the culmination of everything I’m most passionate about teaching and coaching in one place.

The program is based in my Pillars of Self-Trust Framework, which is the big-picture process that all of my coaching and consulting work fits within.

The Ghosts of Self-Doubt

Unfortunately, we all have ghosts who live rent-free in our heads. These ghosts are expert shapeshifters that will try to convince you the voices you’re hearing belong to you, but they actually belong to others.

Some of the ghosts that may be haunting you include:

  • The ghosts of opinionated family members, exes, teachers, or bosses
  • The ghosts of messaging from movies, magazines, TV, and social media
  • The ghosts of microaggressions, blatant discrimination, and systems of oppression

I want you to know that you did not summon the gathering of ghosts in your head, and their presence is not your fault.

However, now that the ghosts have moved in uninvited, it's up to you to deal with them. And this program will teach you how.

Every day you’re being inundated with messages telling you what you “should” do in order to meet other people’s standards of goodness, health, and worthiness. All that external noise can make it challenging to decipher your own needs and desires.

That’s why Follow Your Arrow is designed to help you turn up your inner volume and deepen your sense of self-trust.

The January 2022 cohort of the program starts on January 10th and runs through December 16th. The program will take place in an online community hosted through the Mighty Networks platform.

Every month we’ll dig into a new topic that will help you develop your self-trust. For each topic, you’ll get three audio lessons with transcripts, a deeper dive tool or practice that accompanies each lesson, a book recommendation that complements the monthly topic, and bonus topic-specific resources.

I’ll facilitate a live group coaching and Q&A call each month for members to foster community, share experiences, and get their questions answered. For the January 2022 cohort, calls will typically be scheduled on Wednesdays, and two different times will be offered per monthly call: 12:00-1:00 PM CST/1:00-2:00 PM EST and 5:30-6:30 PM CST/6:30-7:30 PM EST. All calls will be recorded and made available to members.

Throughout the program I’ll also be inviting expert guest speakers and teachers to drop in to make sure you’re learning from a variety of viewpoints, expertise, and lived experiences.

  • Anyone who's interested in moving through self-doubt and shame in order to step into self-trust
  • Heartfelt humans who see the immense suffering in this world and are wondering what they can do about it
  • Folks who are interested in knowing themselves more deeply and living by their values
  • People who want to learn how to move through perfectionism and discomfort to live more joyfully and do less harm
  • Queer folks of all stripes, whether out or closeted (and our straight accomplices too!)
  • Misunderstood misfits looking to find a band of fellow rebels and truth-tellers

This program is not for you if you’re not committed to understanding your privilege, fighting against systems of oppression, and centering marginalized voices.

This program is also not a replacement for working with and receiving treatment from a licensed medical professional such as a therapist, psychiatrist, or dietitian.

First, I think it's important for you to know who you'll be learning from. I am a mixed-race, queer, and neurodiverse woman. I have olive skin, dark features, and a non-white name, so I both experience racial discrimination and benefit from proximity to whiteness due to colorism. I also benefit from thin and pretty privilege. I don't have any physical disabilities at this time and my ADHD is considered an “invisible disability.” I grew up in a majority-white suburb in an upper-middle-class family with stable access to food, housing, and healthcare. I have an advanced degree, and I have lived in liberal cities with dense populations since the age of eighteen.

I name these things because they have affected how I interact with the world and how the world interacts with me. I am committed to the ongoing work of interrogating my biases and owning my various privileges in an effort to do the least amount of harm possible. I believe that accountability is a necessary part of social justice, and I promise to listen to those who have been harmed by my mistakes and integrate their feedback so I can do better in the future.

Second, my personal and professional work is rooted in:

  • Radical queerness and seeing beyond the restrictive binaries of gender identity and sexual orientation.
  • Fat liberation, equal access to healthcare, and the downfall of diet and wellness culture.
  • Disability justice and accessibility as the standard, not an afterthought.
  • Anti-racism, reparations, the landback movement, the elimination of the prison-industrial complex, and dismantling white supremacy.
  • Intersectional feminism that is specifically inclusive of trans folks, creating a culture of consent, and the destruction of the patriarchy.

Third, the groups I facilitate are spaces where folks can expect to feel both supported and challenged. Members agree to struggle together against systems of oppression and their internalized biases, to sit with the discomfort that often accompanies conversations about power and privilege, and to honor each other's feelings as well as their own.

Due to the nature of the one-year commitment required for this program and the financial constraints of being a small business owner, there are no refunds. Signing up means you are agreeing to stay in the program for its entirety, even when life happens and it gets challenging to stay engaged (which it inevitably will at times).

The Follow Your Arrow membership program is a year-long commitment, which means no refunds will be tendered for the program. If you choose to stop participating in the membership prior to the program's end, you will continue to be responsible for completing your remaining monthly payments.

By signing up for the program, you agree to follow community guidelines and that you will not share, circulate, or reproduce materials or proprietary information from this program without express permission from Shohreh.

You also agree to respect the identities, privacy, and confidentiality of other members and that you will not share screenshots, recordings, or information disclosed in our group spaces with other parties unless express permission is granted.
